You’ve done your research, narrowed down your plastic surgeon search and scheduled a few breast augmentation consultations. However, each plastic surgeon has a slightly different plan for your procedure. Now what?
While it’s not uncommon for two plastic surgeons to have different opinions on how best to approach your procedure, it can be frustrating and confusing to make a decision when this happens. Follow these tips to navigate several breast augmentation consults.
Seek Opinions Only from Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons
Quickly and easily rule out differing opinions if one or more of your options is not a board-certified plastic surgeon. When looking for the best breast augmentation plastic surgeons in your area, consider only those who are certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Evaluate Your Overall Experience
If all of your options are board-certified plastic surgeons, compare your overall in-office experiences with each one. Was the staff friendly and helpful? Did you feel comfortable and confident asking the plastic surgeon questions? Did he or she adequately listen to your needs, goals and concerns before offering advice? Was that advice customized to fit your needs?
Conversely, did you feel coerced or pressured into making a decision on the spot? If so, take this as a sign that this plastic surgeon might not be the right choice. Trust your gut when choosing the right plastic surgeon for you.
When In Doubt, Get Another Opinion
It won’t hurt to have a third or even fourth opinion if you’re torn between two or not sure that you are fully satisfied with either of your initial options.
