After breast augmentation, most women are able to return to work within one week, although you will still have to limit physical activity for another few weeks. In addition to following your plastic surgeon’s specific recovery guidelines, use these breast augmentation recovery tips to help ensure a smooth healing process along the way.
-
Plan for Extra Help
Prior to your breast enhancement, arrange for some extra help around the house for the first few days after your procedure. If you have kids, having someone to help with their care while you rest for the first three days or so is also recommended.
-
Get Enough Rest
You will need to limit heavy lifting, including your children, for a few weeks after getting breast implants.
Letting your body rest is paramount to the success of your breast augmentation recovery. Some women find that resting or even sleeping in a reclining chair is the most comfortable option for the first few nights, as you will need to avoid rolling over onto your stomach.
Prepare a comfortable recovery space with plenty of pillows, blankets, books, movies and other entertainment so you won’t be tempted to keep getting up and down when you’re supposed to be resting.

Don’t Skip Follow-Up Appointments
Even if you are feeling great, it is still important that you keep any scheduled follow-up appointments. This gives your plastic surgeon a chance to physically examine your progress and make sure everything is healing as it should. This is also a great opportunity to ask any questions that you might have from the first phase of recovery.
