The First Silicone Implant Was Invented in 1961
The earliest versions of the implants we still use today were born in 1961, when two American surgeons designed a teardrop-shaped silicone gel breast implant to match the natural shape of breasts. Although the design and formulation of silicone implants has been continually refined and improved over the years, that 1961 prototype is still very much responsible for today’s modern implants.

During Recovery, One Implant Often Drops Faster
