Moving beyond traditional photography, plastic surgeons are no longer limited to only providing surgical patients their “before and after” pictures at their six-month post-operative visits. We will soon offer Vectra 3D imaging technology during consultations to illustrate the results that surgery can achieve. We’ve found that Vectra offers patients at least two big advantages: better communication with the doctor, and increased comfort about choosing a cosmetic procedure.
Benefits of 3D Imaging for the Patient
Vectra 3D imaging eliminates the guesswork about what you’ll look like after cosmetic surgery. Our patients don’t have to worry that the result they envision may not look quite right once it’s achieved. Instead, along with their surgeon, our patients are able to utilize 3D imaging to experiment with different looks and find the one that specifically achieves their desired changes before making a final decision. Vectra is a great tool to help you feel more confident in your decision to undergo surgery and approach your procedure with realistic expectations. It can be a great tool for breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, and many other procedures.
How’s It Done?
To begin this process, we’ll take a picture of the area you want to enhance (whether it be the nose, face or the breasts, etc.) using our Vectra 3D imaging camera. Once these pictures are captured, Dr. Kaufman will use the advanced simulation software to manipulate the images to show you some results that can be achieved. As a final step, you will explore many different looks and options to determine what is most fitting and realistic given your goals.
We’re excited about using Vectra 3D imaging to deliver even more satisfying outcomes for our patients! We expect to have our new machine in the office and ready to use later this summer.
