The recovery process after breast augmentation should be taken under just as much consideration as the procedure itself. As with any surgery, this means possibly having to miss work or school, along with generally taking things easy for a bit. Here are four recovery tips that can help ensure a low-stress healing period after getting breast implants.
-
Plan Ahead
When you and your surgeon plan the date for your surgery, make sure that you plan ahead. This means making sure your work or school is aware that you will be missing a few days and that any other obligations have been covered.
-
Rest
As with any surgery, resting is a main part of the healing process. While you should be up and about after a few days, notify any family or friends so you have help if you need it. Take it easy and don’t push yourself too fast or too soon. You’ll be back to your daily routine again before you know it.
-
Don’t Panic
Seeing your final breast augmentation results after surgery takes time, and you have to be patient along the way. Some early asymmetry or breasts that look larger or smaller than you expected are all normal. By a few months after surgery, you’ll have a much better idea of how your new profile should look.

Talk to Your Surgeon
If at any time you think something isn’t right with your aftercare, notify your plastic surgeon immediately, even if you just have questions. Your surgeon is there to help not only with your breast augmentation, but with the recovery process too.
